Lamett Europe NV, based in Deerlijk, has acquired 100% of the shares of the leading solid wood flooring manufacturer Morava Wood, based in Unicov, Czech Republic. Morava Wood employs 85 people and is known for being a quality supplier of solid oak wood floors to European home-improvement stores, professional distributors and floor retailers. The company sources all its raw materials from sustainable forests and is vertically integrated from sawmill to finished products. Thanks to the high quality of the products and innovative product methods, Morava Wood has turned into a leader in the industry of solid oak wood floors.
There is no denying that this acquisition equals an important reinforcement of Lamett Europe’s image as “parquet specialist”. Lamett Europe is a fast-growing distributor of flooring in Europe with sales in 24 countries. The Lamett range varies from budget-friendly floors to very sophisticated parquet. Besides wooden floors, Lamett also supplies laminate and vinyl flooring. In Belgium 30 people are employed who, other than pay considerable attention to quality, care and service, deliberately aim for a higher level in competence. In 2013 Lamett launched its new motto “Floors are female” which highlights the customer centric commerce in a remarkable way. Among other things, the Lamett Dream Box, a free sample service on the website, is a very much appreciated example of this.
Bruno Descamps, Managing Director of Lamett Europe: “This acquisition is an important step in our company development. This move is one step in our aim to become a fully integrated manufacturer of high quality wooden floors made in Europe.”
Koen Hordijk, founder and Managing Director of Morava Wood: “I am excited to align Morava Wood to a group of passionate entrepreneurs who share the same values of responsible entrepreneurship and sustainability. I have no doubt that Lamett will take the company to the next level creating great opportunities for both its employees and customers.”
