Maison et Objet Paris, 8–12 September 2017 Stand B54, Hall 1 Eclectic. The Rug Show NY, 10–13 September 2017 Stand 515.
For the eleventh consecutive year, Zollanvari International are presenting their latest creations at the world’s foremost interior design show, Maison et Objet Paris (M&O). Their stand (B54) is in a prime new location on the red carpet in Hall 1 Eclectic. Concurrently and for the third year running, Zollanvari USA will be at The Rug Show New York, which once again is held in conjunction with the area rug industry’s most important Fall New York and New Jersey markets and features some of the most renowned producers and wholesalers.
The fairs on the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean see the launch of the full Kyoto Collection. Looking East to Japan, these new creations push the boundaries of contemporary ‘designer’ carpet weaving in Iran and deliver thoroughly modern fine quality (kashkuli) Gabbehs created for today’s interiors. Inspired from the motifs and patterns used in meisen woven silk kimonos, these designs have been hugely challenging to execute and the results are spectacular as well as innovative. As Reza Zollanvari stated in a recent interview:
“I want[ed] to offer something different… I want[ed] to create something new.”
Other collections and new designs including Graffiti (archaic Gabbeh motifs transformed into a thoroughly contemporary design with a twist and in a combination of cool pastel and zany vibrant colours), Feathers (Persian Gabbehs meet Pre-Columbian and Peruvian feather-works in a traditional ‘quilt’ style) and classic Zollanvari tribal and city designs, including our greatly acclaimed Designer Isfahan Collection in new colours, as well as their wide range of Minimalist Flatweaves including the Caprino Kelim Collection (made of undyed goat’s hair/wool) and Ikat Kelim Collection, will also be on show.
Hot off the loom are Red Panther and Palm Bark, two new design prototypes which will be developed into full collections in 2018.
In New York, visitors will be able to view the multi award-winning Kundan Silk® and Couture Collections (made in India), including Rapture 4, winner of the Best Liked by DOMOTEX Visitors 2017 Award, which alongside Kyoto and Graffiti, has also been nominated for the German Design Awards.
